Bear Lake Salsa Boyz

Me, my hubby and my mom and dad went fishing to Bear Lake on Saturday to the Annual Salsa Boyz Fishing Tournament. Its a great time even though Bear Lake is pretty cold in mid November. Just plan on crappy weather and if its good, then that will be the highlight of the day! However, it was a wonderful day, the weather could not have been nicer. In the morning, we met up with all the other boats by the rockpile and fished until noon when all the boats (about 10 to 12) hooked up together and shared lunch. It is really quite the site to see 12 boats all tied up together on the Lake. Several boats not in our group drove by looking like 'What the heck is going on?'. We had the most success for numbers of fish, catching 7 cutthroats in the 5 pound range. Another boat won the prize for 'BigFish' with a 14 lb. Mack. Wow. I had such a great time mostly because I got to spend the day with my most loved ones- hubby and mom and dad!!!!! Here is the site to the fishing forum of the group we were with.

Fishin on Halloween

After 4 years of marriage, this is the first Halloween that me and Jamie have been able to spend together. One or the other of us has always had to work. We decided we would go fishing someplace close, so we went to Hyrum. There was not very many boats on the water, probably because it was very cold and windy. We even got some sprinkles of rain a couple times. We were there for 4 hours and we only caught one fish (well I did). Decent sized rainbow. We had a great time and it was nice to get out. Natty had a blast barking at all the birds even though she froze!

The deer hunt

Well I have been really sick for the past 4 weeks. Several months ago however, I purchased a deer tag to go deer hunting for my first time. I really did not feel that great but on opening morning, my husband told me that if I wanted to go that he would be my guide and do all the dirty work of the hunt. All I had to do was just shoot it. I had not been out of the house for 3 weeks, other than to go to the hospital, so I decided to give it a try. We went out early in the morning and went out to Jamie's stomping grounds. Since I didnt feel great, we decided to just stalk and stop(road hunt). Luckily for me, within the first hour, we seen a group of deer with one buck in it. I mainly just wanted to hunt for the meat so I didnt really care how big it was. The buck we seen was a 3 point. I missed my first two shots because it was running and too far away but got him on the next shot. When we got to the deer, he still had velvet on his horns! Very unusual for this time of year. I had a great time getting out of the house and mainly spending some well needed time with my hubby.

Okay, so I finally decided to start a blog. After continually 'snooping' at all of my friends and old classmates blogs, I have just gave in and will try my best to make this work. It is a really fun way to stay in touch with your friends and family that you never get time to see. Hopefully I will figure out the ways of this madness.
